We are excited to start the new year off with the addition of six new members to the Liquid Federation: Bitmatrix, DIGTL, GMO Coin, Mempool, Specter, and Zaprite.

The new additions will bring the total number of Federation members to 63, which includes major exchanges, trading desks, infrastructure and wallet providers, gaming companies, and digital securities platforms.

Member and Integration Details

As the Liquid Federation grows, the network further decentralizes, and new members and their integrations provide new use cases for users.

Many of the members below have already successfully integrated Liquid into their platforms. Others will be going online very soon, providing Liquid users with more venues to manage and trade their Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC) and other Liquid-based assets, such as stablecoins and security tokens.

Bitmatrix

Bitmatrix is a covenant-based AMM protocol where users can create their own pool, add liquidity to an existing pool, or swap two assets. Whether swapping two assets or adding or removing liquidity, users can asynchronously transact regardless of the type of interaction.

Liquid Integration: Bitmatrix utilizes Liquid opcodes to enable automated liquidity provision across L-BTC and other Liquid-based assets. The new addition of taproot opcodes enables the construction of highly-expressive recursive covenants that can interoperate and enforce constraints to result in a fully-functional AMM based on the UTXO model.

Digital Markets

Digital Markets (DIGTL) connects the world’s best assets with global investors through a network of digital securities exchanges and alternative trading venues, allowing issuers to quickly access the world’s capital at a fraction of the cost, and providing investors with exciting investment opportunities.

Liquid Integration: DIGTL partnered with WallStreetBets to launch stock exchange-traded products issued on the Liquid Network. DIGTL will continue to provide end-to-end capital markets infrastructure allowing issuers to easily manage their digital securities and reach global retail investors compliantly.

GMO Coin

GMO Coin is a prominent Japanese cryptocurrency exchange offering spot and CFD products, with bitcoin making up the majority of their trading volume.

Liquid Integration: GMO will integrate the Liquid Network into its platform to source BTC liquidity via L-BTC and L-JPY trading pairs and payment methods.

mempool.space

The Mempool Open Source Project develops the popular blockchain and mempool explorer for the Bitcoin community running at mempool.space.

Liquid Integration: The team recently received a grant from Blockstream to upgrade its Liquid explorer (liquid.network) to preserve it as a free and open-source tool. Further development of new widgets for auditing and transparency of the network and a redesign of the Liquid asset directory is also planned.

Specter

Specter is an open-source hardware wallet and desktop multisig provider popular among Bitcoiners, community projects and Bitcoin enterprises for its simple, easy-to-navigate interface and powerful wallet capabilities.

Liquid Integration: Users can send, receive, and store Liquid assets and manage their Liquid node using a simple graphical user interface.

Zaprite

Zaprite is a non-custodial invoicing and project management platform that allows anyone to track tasks and create customized invoices. Users can connect their own nodes or wallets and get paid directly via Bitcoin, Lightning, or Liquid.

Liquid Integration: Zaprite is integrating the mempool.space API to watch for Liquid transactions and perform account-level functions, such as expense tracking and email notifications. Zaprite plans to build out hosted payment pages, event ticketing, donation pages, crowdfunding campaigns, and more, all allowing Liquid payments.
