Liquid Assets for WooCommerce is now officially available as an easy-to-use WordPress plugin. The free plugin enables online retailers to assign Liquid-based assets to specific products, similar to how a voucher or gift card works.

Blockstream's online store implemented the Liquid Asset plugin as a trial run in March. Since then, the company has utilized the plugin's voucher feature in various promos, including the preorders for its hardware wallet Jade.

Upon checkout, buyers received a B-JDE tokenized voucher to redeem when the hardware wallets were available at a later date. As a token, not only does it give priority access to the next batch but also enables buyers to trade, gift, and resell them at their discretion.

Liquid-Powered Commerce

In addition to selling tokens, online retailers can apply asset-specific discounts by integrating the plugin with BTCPay Server.

These features enable retailers to market directly to customers without the need for third parties. Retailers can self-host special item giveaways, preorder deals, or digital lotteries for promotional purposes. This form of direct marketing lowers overhead costs and enhances marketing strategies.

Online stores can also employ discounts for users paying in a specific asset, such as Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC), Liquid CAD (L-CAD), or Tether (USDt). Stores can then highlight products and services or incentivize payments in a preferred asset.

Plugin Specifics

Administrative tools are available on the plugin's backend to help customize and secure the experience for customers.

Retailers have the option to connect their own Elements node or use Coinos to distribute their Liquid-based assets. In addition, the plugin allows retailers to choose the assets customers interact with and stylize checkout fields for a more tailored approach.

To ensure the Liquid Assets plugin runs smoothly, retailers also have access to the order notes for each transaction and can opt for email notifications.

Make a Contribution

With the Liquid Assets for WooCommerce plugin being entirely open-source software, users are encouraged to contribute and leave feedback for further improvements.

We also recommend joining the official Liquid Telegram to discuss plugin features and possible new use cases with others. See you in the chat!
